Designed by Pepe Heykoop the Soft Oak Chair looks like massive blocks held by a slim frame. These massive blocks have the look of a butchers block but appear to be soft and quite comfortable while touching it.

The ‘fabric’ of the chair consists of a wooden mosiac of oak. Found on Studio Pepe Heykoop

Rocking Chair that Generates Electricity from the Rocking Motion

I have to say that this idea is very useful, safe energy and I would like to see it applied more. The Murakami Chair’s has an attached lamp that is powered by your rocking back and forth.
Why waste valuable kinetic energy created while leisurely rocking when you could power an OLED lamp while doing so? The OLED lamp even senses when it’s light or dark out, and if it’s light, stores the energy produced by rocking in a battery pack until nightfall. The chair, designed by Rochus Jacob, rightfully shared first prize at the DesignBoom Green Life Competition.

Build Kids Furniture from Wooden Blocks

These wooden pieces were created by Michelle Kauffman for a family who recently had a baby. “The gift of building”- she calls it while happily remembering her favorite activity as a child.

To take this even further, you could even try building such blocks for yourselves, find a nice place to store them (in the children’s room) and use them as seating places when your kids have friends over for example. It would also be a great way of enhancing their level of creativity.

Sit Back and Relax in the Ducking Lounge Chair

It’s almost peculiar how comfortably tranquil the chair is on its own, and (although it’s constructed from walnut) it would be an amazing concept new furniture for an outdoor pool chair or several arranged around a patio. Personally, I wouldn’t mind kicking back in front of a wide-screen television with a drink in one hand and the controller in the other. It is the summer after all.
Developed by Korean designer Jung Myung Taek, the Ducking Lounge Chair is true to its name by appearing to be one of the most relaxing-looking chairs out there. Two meters long, the chair is structured from walnut and held together by strategically-placed screws that give it a light, springiness that would work perfectly either in or outdoors.
Wood Chair with a Small Place for Simple Storage

Designed by Lewis Taylor this wood chair is a chair that has a small place that can be used for storage.

What you put in there is your book and your pencil. It’s got some nice features, too! Like for example it’s made of solid ash wood and leather. The designer suggests that this chair could also be used as a temporary or permanent substitute for a bedside table. What do you think ? I Think is Simplicity is the best.

Puzzle Table Furniture Design

There is something fascinating about puzzles, whether they are in the classical form of a game or in any other. Children love them, adults can’t get enough of them and the design industry seems to have fully taken advantage of their popularity. This cocktail table, part of the Puzzle Collection is a great example of how puzzles interact with furniture and design in general.
Produced by Patou Design, this seemingly ordinary table (when not expanded) can twist and turn in order to fit your needs of space. It is also very useful for those times guests will surprise you and drop by uninvited. Simply take out the puzzle table and expand it. You should be careful around children, we are guessing that the temptation would be substantial. Once the table is set, the cocktails madness can start. As we stated before, what is especially stunning about this table is its versatility. Notice how it can be used as three separate tables or as one table “made” by two pieces tide together using the help of glass. If you want to purchase this product or the other items in the Puzzle Collection, you can do so by accessing this link. However, the price is not specified. Production and shipping take from 4 to 10 weeks. There is also a contact form that you can use to type in any significant details about you order. The table is custom made, so e creative and think of all those exotic drinks!

Skid Row by Philippe Malouin

Designed by Philippe Malouin the “Skid Row” will be part of his exhibition ‘unusual context’ for nextlevel gallery in paris. The chair is made from bent steel tubing, perforated birch balls, and elastic shock cord. Philippe malouin’s work combines a certain element of humor, with both conceptual and functional language.
When the user sits down, the wooden balls rearrange and contour the shape of his or her body. And I think when we sit there, the wooden balls can give a little reflection therapy to our body.

Wood Chair Creative

Designed by Marina Bautier for Atlantico, this simple-looking chair is a multi-functional piece of furniture, perfect for small home owners and design enthusiasts alike.
The ‘Chaise & Tabouret’ as it is called, is a unique chair made from solid wood, which conceals a small, detectable stool for additional seating when needed (can also be used as a small side table). The stool slides effortlessly into a groove under the chair, and is held in place by a small stop …how fabulously clever!
