Limited Edition Furniture "Manta"

The overall feeling is that of sinuosity and impenetrability and this was made possible by using carbon fiber to build the pieces. This unusual and fascinating set of furniture comes from Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance, a designer that is known for reinterpreting and giving new meanings to History and its influences. These items are a part of a furniture collection called “Manta” and they were designed for Italian company Ceccotti. The sideboard, the armchair and the desk represent the designer’s unique approach of reinventing Art Nouveau. Only twenty similar pieces were made, so this is a limited edition.

Planika is an Australian-European company whose main purpose is “to bring the primeval fire from before thousands of years to contemporary interiors”. Today we would like to present a few items from the “Fire Collection” designed by Arik Levy.




Stylish and creative, these models are not just not just a great replacement for a fireplace, but a cool addition to your apartment furniture as well. Some of them are also tables, made from glass with “glassfire technology”, a trademark of the company. Altavoz - Blue Shelving System

There are so many ideas concerning shelving systems designs these days that few of them really manage to stand out. This blue system of shelves was created by designer Carlos Tiscar, from Spain. With various dimensions and unlimited possibilities for combining the items, this set is not only practical, but also quite creative.






Symmetrical or asymmetrical, just choose the arrangement that best suits your home decors. The blue shelves come really great in a white or black environment. We think that embedding them in the walls (where this situation is possible, of course) would be an interesting approach as well. Slim&Strong Lamp, an Interesting Diploma Project

This new design lamp comes from the design graduate Delphine Frey and was her diploma for the University of Art and Design Lausanne in Switzerland. The carbon-fibre lamp has a very interesting shape and the hidden spots create a unique new design atmosphere. Here are some of Frey’s comments on her project :” This desk lamp or console table lamp was born from the association of two different universes; the softness and elegance of the haute couture pleat meet the rigidity of carbon.


It is a subtle mix of two worlds: this object represents the encounter of an ancestral know-how with the latest technology. It was made with the assistance of a Formula One parts supplier. The pleats are not only esthetical, they also add some rigidity to the long and thin structure. In addition, they also hide the leds”. A very intriguing product which makes us look forward to more interesting ideas new design from young designers.

Bench

A colorful design with a very creative name. Julien is a very talented designer living for the moment in The Netherlands. He has many interesting projects and if you visit his web page you will also find some news about a design internship. The bench is actually a part of a series of furniture, all gathered under the title “to be continued”. Such furniture items include a sideboard, a coffee table and a cabinet. What unites these designs is their unique way of production.



These are some words of the designer himself concerning the innovative bench and the process of production.“It deals with creating a real and recognizable uniqueness within serial production. Instead of leaving randomness manage the differences; it uses the repetitive actions existing within the production process as a tool for differentiation. Then each piece produced comes as a result of a process applied on the piece that came before. Each piece is then existing because of the others and couldn’t have been designed without the others.Each layer is casted on top of the one casted before following the exact outline of it. Because of the imperfection of the cast, the object slowly mutates and starts designing itself. ”With this willingly self-made design, one must wonder about the ergonomics of the bench. In spite of its interesting look, it doesn’t really seem too comfortable.
