If you thought that painting cabinets is an overwhelming job, then deciding to paint them black tends to make the task a lot more challenging. However, for some people black is a favorite color and probably just about the only shade that won’t frighten others.

So take a moment to check out Emily’s kitchen. Prior to the change, Emily didn’t bother about her laminate backsplash or the orange discolor of the cabinets, but after getting her kitchen painted black we can definitely say that the outcome is amazing.

The Self-Modeling Cabinet Furniture Design

As the designer herself stated, “The user can continue to ‘stuff in’ more and more items until this seemingly slim and inanimate object becomes obese.”

These being said, we did not really expect to see this sort of design any time soon. Stuff comes from Marina Ralph and was presented at London Design Festival 2009. What this amazing locker does is that it modifies its shape with each new item you place inside it. This is possible due to the materials used to create it: plywood, latex skin and sycamore. Not only would it be really fun to use, but the storage space is considerably larger than the average similar pieces of furniture.

Sliding Storage Structure Furniture Container Design

If you are one to enjoy unusual - also meaning original - pieces of furniture, here’s the latest: the Armor Sideboard comes form David Keune, a talented designer from The Netherlands.

You can now forget about having your favorite things randomly spread around the house. This container is perfect for magazines, CD’s, perfumes. There is no limit to the nature of the items you place in it, but just their size. When you want to reach something, just bring out the sliding structures, one by one and what you stored inside will be revealed.

Simple Single Line Furniture

” Single Line Furniture” is a a concept deign for a single line furniture used as an architecture station. For now this is just a concept, but I’m pretty sure that this concept would look preety good in reality.

That post was called “Furniture Made with a Single Stroke” and it was designed by Aykut Erol. Today here is a similar idea, but that I think it looks much better. Designed by a designer from Tokyo, Yuppie Hippie.

The Evolution Dresser

Beautifully hand-carved from oak wood, the conventional side conserves a high detailed carving on every inch it holds, and to balance it up, the progressive side offers a linear intelligent design that adds a bit of modern. A great concept wrapped in functionality
Living in the era of contemporary design and architecture, people sometimes need to look back in past and come up with very fresh conventional things. Things like this “Evolution” dresser by Ferruccio Laviani (for Emmemobili), that has been concerted as the evolution of conventionality to progressiveness.

Wooden Armoire Doubles as Media Cabinet

Designed by Antoine Proulux with adjustable shelves, it’s capable to house stereo receivers, amplifiers, CD players, DVDs or even a 27 inch TVs.
For those who are serious on how functional an armoire should be, this combination between a wooden armoire and media cabinet would be an astute selection. Although it’s a conventional looking piece of furniture with black painted supports, the armoire creates a warm and inviting ambiance — making it a perfect fit for both your living room and bedrooms.

Bathroom Cabinet

A wall-mounted sink can add style to any bathroom space. Today I would like to present you a new series of wall mounted sinks and cabinets from Sonia.
These pieces have a beautiful curved design that maximizes space by mounting sink/cabinet combinations directly to the wall, freeing up floor space and helping to create some visual space.
